Situated at the base of the magnificent Sani Pass in the Mkhomazana Valley bordering the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage site, the Sani Pass Hotel and Leisure Resort has something to offer everyone. It is renowned for its warm hospitality, breathtaking surroundings and personal service.

Whether its adventure and activity for which you strive, or a bit of fresh mountain air, and relaxation, The Sani Pass Hotel and Leisure Resort can offer you and your family something for everyone.

ACCOMMODATION

The Hotel can cater for up to 180 people with a choice of luxury rooms within the Hotel complex, or for those who prefer the country feel – a range of single, double or interleading family chalets in the beautiful hotel gardens.

The Main Hotel:
The Main Hotel offers standard double rooms, luxury double rooms or executive / honeymoon suites. All rooms have en suite baths and / or showers, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Luxury doubles are spacious and enjoy magnificent north facing views across the golf course. Executive/honeymoon rooms are individually decorated luxury en-suite rooms with a lounge area and enjoy the best views the Hotel has to offer!

Chalets:
If you are looking for more of a country feel, thatched cottages in the beautiful hotel gardens accommodate guests in single and double rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and showers, TVs and tea/coffee making facilities. The front-facing double rooms offer private patios overlooking the bowling greens and for families we have interleading cottages and large family rondawels.

CUISINE

As we all know, good cuisine is part and parcel to enjoying a good holiday, stress relieving mini-break or successful conference. At the Sani Pass Hotel we combine the freshest organic and local ingredients to offer a choice of menu that caters for all tastes.

The following is included in the rate:
• bounteous breakfast buffet – with both continental and English offerings,
• mid morning and afternoon tea served on the terrace overlooking the beautiful valley,
• four course dinner

For your lunch time rumblings, light meals can be ordered or enjoyed at the Imbizo poolside al fresco restaurant and bar. There is also a children’s restaurant with a special children’s menu to keep their healthy appetites satisfied.

CONFERENCES

Our 3 conference venues are ideally suited for memorable and productive conferences, seminars or meetings. They come equipped with data projectors, DVD players, white boards and flip charts and can seat up to 80 delegates class-room style. Resident co-ordinators will assist with every aspect of the conference and theme evenings, cocktail parties, fun activities and evening entertainment can be organised and provided on request. Children of delegates are also catered for with supervised children’s entertainment and baby sitting services available, whilst partners have a range of activities to choose from.

WEDDINGS

Celebrate your nuptials in the breath-taking surroundings of the Resort. A range of options and ideas are available to be tailor-made into the perfect package. Resident co-ordinators are on hand to assist and advise from the day you contact them right up to and including that very special day. Memorable and beautiful photographs can be taken in the magnificent gardens and surrounds and a complimentary honeymoon suite is offered for the evening to the happy couple.

QUAD BIKING

Family fun and adventure begins here at the Sani Pass Hotel. We offer various guided trips that range from a half hour meander through the 9 hole golf course, through to 1 hour or 1,5 hours adventure routes in the magnificent surroundings. No experience is required as we give tuition and free training. We supply all the safety gear, such as helmets, goggles and gloves. Children can ride with their parents or go on their own if they are older than12 years. A variety of Suzuki 160cc and 250cc quad bikes are available for young and old, experienced or not, and a Suzuki DRZ 400cc motorcycles for the two wheeler enthusiasts. All the quads are semi-automatic, electric start and easy to handle. Be sure to book in advance for these fun and adventure packed rides.

4x4 (not required to get to the Hotel):
Sani Pass Hotel and Leisure Resort is situated directly at the base of the magnificent Sani Pass, gateway to the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. Make the very exciting trip, either in your own 4x4 or by joining the daily 4x4 tours that will take you right up to the summit of the pass in Lesotho. Tours will explain the history of the Pass, reveal the unique mountain flora and rare birds of this area such as the Orange-breasted Rockjumper, take you past refreshing waterfalls (frozen in winter) and visit a traditional Basotho village, sampling the life of villagers who survive on these windswept mountain slopes, and have a drink at the highest pub in Africa. The adventure is unforgettable and the views over the top of the escarpment down into KwaZulu-Natal, magnificent.

Directions

The Hotel is situated 220km from Durban. Visitors from Gauteng and Durban take Exit 99 from the N3 to the Southern Drakensberg on the R617. Visitors from the Cape turn off the N2 onto the R617 in Kokstad. In Underberg, turn off to Himeville and continue on this road past the village. Take the turnoff left to Sani Pass. The hotel lies at 1566 metres above sea level. - Take the N3 to Howick - Turn off at exit 99 (R617) UNDERBERG / SOUTHERN DRAKENSBERG - Travel through BULWER onto UNDERBERG - Turn right to HIMEVILLE - +/- 2 km out of HIMEVILLE turn left to SANI PASS - 11 km of gravel road to the HOTEL
